BY Josie Rodgers The Teacher Cadet class of RSM High visited USC Aiken last Friday along with the Aiken High Cadets. Dr. Tim Lintner was their guide, assisted by several Teaching Fellows Scholarship recipients. The Cadets began their day in the Children’s Center, the university’s onsite daycare/preschool. They played with the children of all ages from infants to 4 years old. They most enjoyed the older children who were very active and quite social! From there, IDs were made because these students are officially USC Aiken students because they take this dual credit class! Next was a tour of a dorm and the inside of a freshman dorm room. From there, they went to the Business and Education Building for a look at the education room just for education majors. After a tour of the Student Life Center and pictures, the group toured the library and its newest arrangement for tutoring and studying. Many aspects of college life in general were explored and Cadets asked questions related to applications, scholarships, etc. All of the Teacher Cadets that partner with USC Aiken will gather for a professional conference on the USC Aiken campus Friday, February 3, 2017.
